Openness and transparency is fundamental to the way we do business - not only do we want to tell everyone as much as we can about what we do and who we work with, we also want to help demystify some of the concepts and schemes in which we operate (including the Fairtrade movement itself). We know there's many competing standards, organisations and accreditation schemes... When we first started out, even we used to get confused sometimes!
However, these days we're pretty well versed in the ins and outs of ethical business, Fairtrade, free trade, sustainable operation and co-operative trading. As such, we felt it would be useful if we contributed back some of our knowledge to the wider community. From here, you can find an (ever-increasing!) number of short esays and explanatory posts tackling - and making easily digestible - specific topics or issues within the remit of our work.
Please feel free to read and share with others, and ask us questions - we'll always answer to the best of our abilities.
