Kenya Children Centres

Kenya Childeren CentresKenya Children Centres is a UK based Charity that operates through its Kenya based NGO called "Action for People in Conflict". We have been operating in Kenya since 1999. Kenya Children Centres sets policy and care standards, monitors operations on a daily basis and controls local payments. We organise fund raising with the help of our team of enthusiastic volunteers, find sponsors for the children, raise awareness of poverty and homelessness in Kenya. Local Trustees supervise day to day activities in Kenya and the Children’s Centre manager manages the team of experienced carers that look after the children. KCC Mission:

"KCC Mission is to break the cycle of poverty and social conflict that leads to child exploitation, abuse and neglect by assisting in the rehabilitation of the most vulnerable and destitute children in Kenya."

KCC Aims:

  • To establish safe havens where children’s physical, emotional and psychological needs can be dealt with in a loving and safe environment.
  • To network with other community based organisations working with children who are vulnerable to exploitation, abuse and neglect.
  • To establish sustainable rehabilitation programmes and centres that become integrated into the community and supported by existing local infrastructure and services.
  • To encourage local people to participate in rehabilitation programmes guided by their own community development objectives and assume ownership for their successful outcome.

"Help them bring hope to shattered lives"

KCC Charity

UNICEF’s statistics are daunting: 3,000,000 people face malnutrition; life expectancy has fallen since 1990 from 60 years to 46 years and 12% of children die before they reach 5 years old. Orphan girls are particularly vulnerable because they are seen to be more of a burden. We estimate that 50,000 orphan girls are abandoned without any means of support or schooling. They are almost certain to suffer emotional and physical neglect, exploitation, abuse and possibly death. Our girls have been rescued from these desperate circumstances.
