Revolver World operates as a non-for-profit organisation, and we aim to support the development of less fortunate nations, benefit children in the supplier community, and also as a means to aid people with learning disability.
Revolver Fairtrade t-shirts are produced out of a convent in Tirupur (Assisi) in India. People find the convent as a place where they can seek refuge from poverty. The sisters in the convent actually knit and produce these t-shirts as a means of making some money for their church. Thus Revolver helps in providing work for them.
After production, we bring in the t-shirts and dye them using a firm in the UK called E-Colorgy based in Leicester. E-Colorgy employs people with moderate to severe learning difficulties. Here at Revolver we feel strongly about aiding people with learning disabilities. We also provide support and organize donations to Tettenhall Wood School in Wolverhampton. The School provides education for 57 pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and with severe and complex learning difficulties. The school caters for pupils throughout the 5-19 age range, 55% of whom have a diagnosis of ASD.
We then distribute the goods using a firm called Oxford Whole Foods. What differentiates our product is they are dual certified: Soil Association- Organic standard and Fairtrade. We then put them into an unusual, first of its kind package (using recycled materials and low odour water based inks).
We are hopeful that in the months and years to come, we can once again directly support the development of less fortunate nations than our own. We are already looking into possible ways to help financially support the construction of public facilities (a school, a hospital facility or even an orphanage or hospice) on the African subcontinent, although this is something for the future.

Coffee and clothing with a conscience from a little company with big ideas!
