Revolver World ensures that all its cotton is grown without the use of harmful chemicals

As a Soil Association certified Company, Revolver World ensures that all its cotton is grown without the use of harmful chemicals such as pesticides. This Organic method although important, is highly undermined during production. The use of chemicals in the growing of cotton can have detrimental effects on ones health and therefore needs to be addressed.

Non-organic means chemicals are used in the plant production. These chemicals (if not used in moderation) can have adverse effects on ones health in the long-term. It is useful to know that these chemicals do not just pose a problem to those wearing the cotton, but can also pose a problem within the water table. As the plants are irrigated and the water is washed downstream, the chemicals (if used in excess) are capable of contaminating the water table and affecting those in the region. In the case of organically produced cotton however, it means that the growing of the cotton meets certain production standards (such as the avoidance of chemicals) and therefore is less toxic to individuals.

In a bid to create a fully organic supply chain, Revolver ensures that when the cotton is dyed, certain chemicals are not used in the process. The use of these heavy metals alongside non-organic cotton is potentially harmful to the individual and can have adverse effects on ones health.

The problem however does not end here, as these non-organic methods are cheaper and quicker to adopt therefore resulting in inexpensive goods. However, in the case of organic goods this is not so as more time is invested in these products (in exchange for chemicals) making the prices slightly higher.

In order to solve this problem, Revolver World as a Soil Association certified company, meets Organic standards with all its apparel and goes a step further by gaining Fairtrade status. As a non-for-Profit Company very much aware of these issues and taking into consideration the current economic condition, Revolver ensures that its clothes are reasonably priced as clothes don’t have to cost the earth.
